The sunny days of summer fun may be behind us, but that doesn’t mean you’re doomed for hibernation until spring. If you’ve been wracking your brain to come up with things to do during the winter months when everything fun seems to be closed for the season, Kings Dominion has your solution. The popular park, located in Doswell, Virginia, announced in October that it will be expanding to year-round operations for the 2023 season.
“Kings Dominion will be the cure for cabin fever in 2023,” said Bridgette Bywater, vice president and general manager. “We’ve always wanted find a way to extend our season to all 12 months, and now families and season pass holders won’t have to wait until the spring for their favorite rides or their first taste of funnel cake.”
The park will remain open on weekends through January, February, and early March, while maintaining their regular schedule for the rest of the year.
Some attractions may be limited during these months, either due to inclement weather or scheduled maintenance.
Keep a look out for the park’s seasonal events, like WinterFest, which will runs from November 25 through January 1, 2023. The holiday celebration will feature shimmering lights and other extravagant seasonal decorations, like a 300-foot Christmas tree, and offers opportunities to watch live holiday shows, indulge in seasonal treats, and see the WinterFest Wonderland parade.
