From NYE Parties To Trivia Nights: What We’re Looking Forward To, December 27-January 2

This week, the Northern Virginia magazine editorial team is looking forward to grabbing a slice of pizza, heading to the pub for trivia and celebrating New Year’s Eve.

New Year, New Slice
I’m a lifelong pizza fanatic (I remember being confused that Garfield had chosen lasagna as his favorite dish when pizza was a thing). And I have a new favorite pie in our region, so when the mood strikes this week, I know I’ll be hightailing it to Andy’s Pizza in the Tysons Galleria. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic

Game On
On an almost nightly occurrence, you can find me on the couch watching Jeopardy. It’s probably why I have an obsession with trivia nights. In college, I lived right above a pub and would make a regular appearance at their trivia contests with my roommate. It’s been years since I’ve tested my knowledge, so to close out 2021 I’m heading back for my first and final game of the year. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor

Party at the End of the World
Many New Year’s Eve plans are being canceled due to the spread of Omicron (and continued spread of Delta). But places like King & Rye–which we recently gave a shout out to for its picturesque, COVID-conscious igloos–are open for a smaller, tamer New Year’s. –James Finley, senior editor
