Updated December 20, 2022. Winter throughout the region is usually a time to cuddle on the couch with a warm blanket. But these restaurants and wineries are making it much harder to justify staying inside with their heated igloo and heated outdoor setups. If you’re ready to enjoy a picturesque night on the town this winter, these igloos are the place to be.
Bear Chase Brewing Company
No matter what size your party, the igloos at Bear Chase Brewing can likely accomodate you. With three different sizes, each space can hold anywhere from six to 16 guests during your three-hour reservation. Note that while these igloos are equipped with lights, there is no heat — so make sure to pack on the layers when visiting on those frosty winter days. 33665 Bear Chase Ln., Bluemont; $100-$150 rental fee
The Garden
Your Instagram followers will be amazed when you post this festive spot on your feed. Situated on the patio, the igloo is filled with holiday decorations and comfy loungers that ensure a night to remember (and a great photo). If the igloo is reserved, you can still enjoy the outdoor scenery when dining under the heated and covered patio. 1503 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria
King & Rye
Back by popular demand is the pop-up Winter Wonderland at this Alexandria staple. Available for nighttime outings and weekend brunches, guests can cozy up in the lit and heated igloos throughout the cold months. Plus, enjoy access to a special menu full of seasonal cocktails, Champagne, and warming Southern dishes. 480 King St., Alexandria; $50-$100 rental fee and $100-$200 food and beverage minimum
Potomac Point Vineyard
Sure, these wine tents aren’t technically igloos, but it’s warm, it’s outdoors, and it has plenty of wine to go around.
