Here are 10 places to enjoy fireworks and more, starting this weekend.

Independence Fireworks at Mount Vernon

June 25 & 26
This is a rare chance to see Washington’s tomb by night. You’ll also hear from historical interpreters sharing their stories of living through the War for Independence. Adult tickets start at $45 for non-members. 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy., Mount Vernon; $35-$45

Not on the Fourth of July Fireworks Show

June 26
Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant and Crab House is getting the party started early with live music and then, yes, fireworks. If you want to watch them from the beach, feel free to bring a chair. 1510 Cherry Hill Rd., Dumfries

Workhouse Fireworks

July 2
The area’s biggest pre-Independence Day fireworks show is launched from Workhouse Arts Center’s 55-acre campus in Lorton. 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton; $40-$110

Celebrate Independence Day at Lake Fairfax Park

July 3
If you want to make a day out of your fireworks excursion, there are few places better than Lake Fairfax Park. Food trucks will be on site throughout the day, and the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (tickets usually sell out by noon, so advance purchase is recommended). 1400 Lake Fairfax Dr., Reston; free, $10 for parking

Fireworks & Fun at Turner Farm Park

July 4
Come tailgate with your neighbors at this free event, starting at 6 p.m. Live music, games, contests, and food trucks will keep the whole family busy until the big show starts. 925 Springvale Rd., Great Falls; free

Fireworks Cruise from Alexandria

July 4
Take a water taxi from City Cruises to see fireworks explode all over Washington, DC. The two-hour rides board at 8 p.m. and cost $125 and up per person. 0 Cameron St., Alexandria; $125

Fourth in Fredericksburg

July 4
Festivities before the fireworks include the Heritage 5 Miler, Children’s Roll ‘N’ Stroll, Fourth of July at Ferry Farm, and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. It’s all capped off with a slam-bang show in the sky that night at the FredNats Stadium and at Pratt Park. Fredericksburg

Great Meadow Fireworks

July 4
For the 32nd year, Great Meadow hosts one of Northern Virginia’s best fireworks shows from its internationally acclaimed steeplechase course. You’ll see the entire course and property light up in magnificent patriotic colors; the big show begins at dark, lasts 25 minutes, and is accompanied by a musical score. 5089 Old Tavern Rd., The Plains; $40 per car (up to five people)

Independence Day Celebration

July 4
The party gets underway in Leesburg at 10 a.m. with the annual Independence Day parade, and ends that evening in Ida Lee Park with music, food, fun, and, of course, fireworks. Downtown Leesburg (King Street from Ida Lee Drive to Fairfax Drive); free

Town of Vienna 4th of July Fireworks

July 4
This “hometown fireworks show” at Yeonas Park features live music from Big Bad JuJu. 1319 Ross Dr., Vienna; free
