Fright Night
With two more full weeks of October, there isn’t much time left to get in those last Halloween festivities. While I have already visited a drive-thru haunted house, museum and movie, this week I have decided to try my hand at another fright (because you can never have too many scares during October). This weekend, I’ll be joining Alexandria’s Original Ghost & Graveyard Tour to be scared with some real ghost stories about the city’s past. Eating Local
One of my favorite things about living in Virginia is my proximity to farms. I usually take advantage of local ingredients at farms, but I’m trying to cook at home more. That’s why I’m excited about LoudounGo, a service that delivers everything from meat to vegetables to wine within a 100-mile radius. Halloween at Home
Even before we transitioned to pandemic life, I was an admitted homebody. Friday nights in my household usually involve takeout and falling asleep on the couch watching Netflix. And now as we head into the colder months, I’ve used this surreal time to really up my cozy game. I got new leggings. I just ordered slippers. And I stocked up the whole family with new hats and gloves should we want to venture outside. And, I’ve decided fall will be themed. I’m going to order Halloween pajamas for the whole fam, and then watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Next up, pajamas that make us all look like turkeys.
