While the Nats aren’t welcoming fans to the stadium this season, you can still enjoy the game of baseball throughout this summer. Here are eight batting cages and baseball fields to enjoy throughout Northern Virginia.
Braddock Park Batting Cages
Mondays-Fridays, noon-8 p.m.; Saturdays & Sundays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Braddock Park has nine lighted batting cages, so you can keep playing throughout the night. Speeds vary by cage from a lob to mid-70 mph. // 13241 Braddock Road, Clifton; $5 for two tokens, $10 for 5 tokens, $20 for 12 tokens
Claude Moore Park
With seven baseball and softball fields, you can spend the whole weekend at Claude Moore Park. Just set up a tee or bring along a friend for endless hours of play. // 21544 Old Vestal’s Gap Road, Sterling
Ellanor C. Lawrence Park Athletic Fields
Take your family out to the field for a little game of baseball. Choose from the park’s three state-of-the-art fields and set up your equipment for a fun (and slightly competitive) game. // 5000 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly
Fun Land of Fredericksburg
Wednesday-Sunday, noon-10 p.m.
Make your way to Fun Land of Fredericksburg for the ultimate outing. Take a swing at one of its six state-of-the-art cages, which all feature dual pitching stations. Northern Fauquier Community Park
This community park offers four baseball and softball fields for public use. Gather some friends and bring along your old gloves and bats for a socially distanced game or practice. // 4155 Monroe Parkway, Marshall
Occoquan Regional Park
Mondays-Fridays, 4-8 p.m.; Saturdays & Sundays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, find the perfect speed at the batting cages at Occoquan Regional Park. The pitching machines here have a range of speeds and also offer other pitches to hit, like the curveball. // 9751 Ox Road, Lorton; $1.50 for 14 balls
The Strike Zone
Mondays-Fridays, noon-8 p.m.; Saturdays, noon-4 p.m.; Sundays noon-5 p.m.
Escape the summer humidity and head to an indoor batting cage. Break out the bat and get in a few swings without worrying about tokens. Participants are asked to bring their own equipment. // 826 S. Pickett St., Alexandria; $18-$22 for walk-ins
Upton Hill Regional Park
Mondays-Fridays, noon-8 p.m.; Saturdays & Sundays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
