National Harbor launches new boating options for guests

Monumental Boat Tours has a new boat that can be rented for fun tours of the Potomac, available at the National Harbor.

For Northern Virginians looking to beat the heat near the water, they can now head over to closeby National Harbor in Maryland for new boating options that offer social distance and fun on the Potomac River.

Monumental Boat Tours has released a new boat, called the CraigCat, that can be rented for tours of the river, to Mount Vernon or DC. Each boat accommodates one or two people and a guide comes along in a separate boat to give the tour. CraigCat boaters have the option to go from the National Harbor to Mount Vernon on a two-hour tour to see the Jones Point Lighthouse, Fort Washington, Potomac wildlife and more.

There’s also the Float Boat 360, which allows for a group with room to socially distance and enough space to bring your own beverages too (alcohol is permitted). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the maximum number of guests is six, plus one guide. The Float Boat 360 is available for two-hour rentals.

“We are excited to have these new operators offering a water experience only available at National Harbor. They are a fun way to explore the Potomac River,” said Jackie Saunders, AVP of marketing for National Harbor, in a recent press release.

All boating equipment and the boats themselves are cleaned between uses. Face masks are required for guests while on the docks, but may be removed during tours. Guest are currently being asked to book online to minimize contact. To book a tour, or for more information, visit monumentalboattours.com and floatboat360.com.
