Del Ray Artisans has always strived to create an inclusive thriving art community, and even with a global pandemic keeping locals from coming together in person, the organization has done its best to keep resident artists and art lovers connected right now.
The nonprofit’s recently launched exhibit Art by Mail—featuring one-of-a-kind, small-format original works of art, ranging from paintings of all styles to mixed media—is a prime example of Del Ray Artisans’ efforts. Here’s how it works: Simply scroll through the virtual exhibit, observing relevant work such as a clay mug depicting coronavirus cells or an intricate sculpture of a dad and son trapped within a glass bubble, and pick your favorites. From there, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase items from the collection and receive your desired product within 10 days of purchase.
Of the hundreds of pieces within the exhibit, which will continue through Friday, July 31, no two are alike. Plus, many of the member artists have pledged to donate a percentage of proceeds to local hospitals, emergency funds and other front-line workers. So, as you get a taste of acrylic-painted cherry blossoms, stitched meditations, beaded necklaces and more, you’ll also be giving back to those in need.
