There isn’t an Oktoberfest celebration quite like this one. Lovettsville Oktoberfest will bring a biergarten, Kinderfest, traditional Bavarian music, all-day entertainment and even a Wiener Dog Race (yes, they mean dachshunds) to Loudoun County. Look out for the event’s carnival games, kid-friendly inflatables, 60-plus local vendors, and endless steins of beer from 10 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. // 6 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Lovettsville; free

Crystal City Oktoberfest
Sept. 28, 1-4 p.m.
Back for its second year, the afternoon celebration will have four custom beers for guests to enjoy, as well as live music—including the local oompah band, Alte Kumpel—and an array of food trucks. The event is hosted by the Crystal City Business Improvement District in partnership with New District Brewing, and this year’s four custom beers include: Oktoberfest from New District Brewing, Heffeweizen from Dynasty Brewing Company, Altbier from Settle Down Easy Brewing Co. and Helles from Valor Brewpub. // The Grounds: 1103 S.
