As soon as the end of September rolls around, Oktoberfest season is in full swing, and NoVA is not missing out in 2019. Check out these local events where you can raise your glass time and time again.
Oktoberfest Kick-Off Weekend
Sept. 20-22, 4 to 11:30 p.m.
Village Brauhaus is kicking off the festivities with live German music, a special Wies’n menu and a ceremonial Hofbrau keg tapping. The location will offer six styles of Oktoberfest beers, perfect for your fun-filled weekend in Alexandria. // Village Brauhaus: 710 King St., Alexandria; free
Oktoberfest at Farm Brew Live
Sept. 27-28, 4 to 10:30 p.m., 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
For the second year, Farm Brew Live will be celebrating Oktoberfetst with commemorative beer steins and endless taps of German beer. Catch live music throughout the day, traditional attire and, of course, German-inspired food. Annual Lovettsville Oktoberfest
Sept. 28, 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
There isn’t an Oktoberfest celebration quite like this one. Lovettsville Oktoberfest will bring a biergarten, Kinderfest, traditional Bavarian music, all-day entertainment and even a Wiener Dog Race (yes, they mean dachshunds) to Loudoun County. Look out for the event’s carnival games, kid-friendly inflatables, 60-plus local vendors, and endless steins of beer from 10 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. // 6 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Lovettsville; free
Crystal City Oktoberfest
Sept. 28, 1-4 p.m.
Back for its second year, the afternoon celebration will have four custom beers for guests to enjoy, as well as live music—including the local oompah band, Alte Kumpel—and an array of food trucks. The event is hosted by the Crystal City Business Improvement District in partnership with New District Brewing, and this year’s four custom beers include: Oktoberfest from New District Brewing, Heffeweizen from Dynasty Brewing Company, Altbier from Settle Down Easy Brewing Co. and Helles from Valor Brewpub. // The Grounds: 1103 S. Dogtoberfest
Sept. 28, 3 to 7 p.m.
Get your favorite four-legged friends in on the festivities too. Oktoberfest at Lansdowne Resort and Spa
Oct. 11, 6 to 9 p.m.
Who doesn’t want a keepsake mug to celebrate Oktoberfest? Your ticket into the Lansdowne Resort and Spa Oktoberfest will also offer fresh pours from Bear Chase brewery, German-inspired bites and live music from The Lost Lederhosen band. Cheers! // 44050 Woodbridge Parkway, Leesburg; $15 per person
Oktoberfest at Port City Brewing Company
Oct. 15, 6 to 9 p.m.
Senior Services of Alexandria is hosting its 2019 fundraiser at Port City Brewing Company in true Oktoberfest fashion. The annual fundraiser helps support SSA’s programs and services for Alexandria seniors such as the Senior Nutrition Program, Friendly Visitor Program, AniMeals on Wheels and more. Oktoberfest Festival
Oct. 19, 7 to 11 p.m.
This event is BYOB, as in, Bring Your Own Beerstein. But don’t worry, it will provide you with one if you don’t happen to be a collector. American Legion Post 24 will be tapping brews, serving up fresh bratwurst and gathering for some fun, spontaneous beer-hall singing. // 400 Cameron St., Alexandria; $25 per person
