Have you ever dreamed of winning the championship game with a miraculous play and then being carried off the court by your teammates? For most of us, we probably missed the boat to do that on a professional level, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go for athletic glory on a smaller scale.

Adult recreational sport leagues give you the chance to hit the field or court again and show off your skills, and have fun playing games with friends, old and new. Here are 10 NoVA organizations offering seasonal leagues throughout the year.

Arlington Adult Leagues

Arlington County organizes its own co-ed leagues at its local community centers and fields. In addition to official adult leagues that cover flag football, softball, indoor and outdoor soccer, basketball, and ball hockey, the county also has drop-in times for indoor and outdoor sports throughout the week for those looking for pickup games.

DC Fray

DC Fray has leagues available for just about every sport and every level of participant. Basketball, kickball, flag football, bowling, cornhole, skeeball, and trivia leagues are offered at various locations, including Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, and Springfield, as well as all throughout DC Leagues range from social to competitive and are offered during all four seasons of the year.

Fairfax Sportsplex

Soccer is a winter sport at Fairfax Sportsplex, as the indoor facility hosts men’s, women’s, and co-ed leagues multiple times throughout the week on both turf and hard courts. Adult volleyball leagues are also available in Fairfax.

Fredericksburg Field House

A 75,000-square-foot facility that has both indoor and outdoor fields, Fredericksburg Field House offers adult leagues for basketball, cornhole, field hockey, flag football, floor hockey, soccer, softball, and volleyball.

FXA Sports

Voted by our readers as the best adult rec league in our 2018 Best of NoVA feature, FXA Sports touts 40,000 players in 132 leagues at 100 fields and courts across the region. Traditional sport leagues and bar sport leagues are available. FXA Sports also hosts tournaments and special social events throughout the year.

Loudoun County Parks & Recreation

Your typical adult league offerings are available through Loudoun County’s Parks & Recreation office—basketball, soccer, flag football, softball, volleyball, and kickball—but, for those looking for something a little different, the county also has a cricket league. Grab a wicket and learn more about the popular international sport.

Sportsplex at Dulles

Featuring three indoor turf fields and three courts, the Sportsplex at Dulles hosts adult leagues for soccer, basketball, inline hockey, and volleyball. There are a number of different soccer leagues offered every day but Saturday, based on age and coed or single-sex, as well as multiple hockey leagues. Hockey, soccer, and basketball tournaments are also hosted at the Sportsplex.

Virginia Soccer Association

With games played at Long Park in Haymarket, Virginia Soccer Association wants adults to have the chance to play the game throughout the decades. Leagues include a coed over 30, men’s over 30, and women’s open groups.

Warrenton Youth Sports Club

While WYSC is primarily for kids in the Warrenton area, it also has started to offer an adult volleyball league for men and women ages 16 and older. There is a fall, spring, and summer league.

ZogSports

Rec leagues like this are a great way to meet new people, but they can also be a bonding tool for coworkers. ZogSports, in addition to offering your typical leagues for individuals and groups of friends, has corporate events like field days, tournaments, holiday parties, and good old-fashioned team-building challenges for creating a stronger team at the office.
