This week, Northern Virginia Magazine editors are looking forward to a Wolf Trap concert, Celebrate Fairfax! and a night out in Fredericksburg.

Seeing Wilco at Wolf Trap
June 9, 8 p.m.

Summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21, but for me, it starts this Friday with my first Wolf Trap concert of the season. I’ll be heading to the Vienna park to see Wilco, who, in short order, released two great albums recently: last year’s Schmilco and 2015’s Star Wars. –BK // Wolf Trap: 1551 Trap Road, Vienna

’90s rock at Celebrate Fairfax!
June 9-11

Who doesn’t remember driving down the road belting out the words “Glycerine. Glycerine. Don’t let the days go by … ”? Well, I’ll be belting them out this weekend at the Fairfax Government Center Friday night as Bush takes the stage. Beforehand I’ll fill up on fried Oreos and maybe take a spin on one of the rides. –LN // Fairfax County Government Center: 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax

Purée Juice Bar pop-up at SourceCore
June 11, 3-6 p.m.

Maybe this is the Sunday I will work out instead of napping. SourceCore is hosting a Purée Juice Bar pop-up—watermelon; (new) activated charcoal juice with watermelon; and cucumber, summer chia blend—with free mini (15-minute) classes of WERQ Dance Fitness, Cardio Sculpt and yoga. –SG // SouceCore: 144 Church St. NW, Vienna

Birthdays, Beer and F’Burg

I’ll be in FXBG this weekend for a major shindig in honor of my dad’s 70th and my aunt’s 80th birthdays and look forward not only to the outdoor festivities (for which my mom has enlisted an Irish musician) but also to the after party that my husband and I will throw for ourselves downtown. I plan on grabbing an app or two from Legume (I never say no to crab dip) and then savoring a bowl of Devil’s Pass pasta with a couple pints of craft beer at Sedona Taphouse. It has more than 500 beers. Yes, I said 500. –EB

Seeing Wonder Woman

I personally hope that movie theaters never go the way of Blockbuster because seeing a movie on the big screen (with snacks, of course) is still as fun for me as it was in middle school. So to kick off summer movie season, I’ll be settling in to watch Gal Gadot save humanity—most likely for a matinee showing, though, because unlike when I was in middle school, I’ll be footing the bill. –WD
