Visit The Candy Factory not to find sweet treats but rather beautiful works of art. Breathe and take in paintings by Jamie McPhail and Caleb Mathews at this monthlong exhibit. McPhail is an encaustic artist who creates colorful paintings from beeswax and is influenced by the natural beauty of her home state of North Carolina. Her paintings originate from physical and emotional landscapes that represent the intersections of what is real and perceived in our lives. Mathews is a Virginia Tech graduate whose art, like his series of oil cloud paintings, is influenced by his faith.
