Springtime in Loudoun is known as the time for garden fairs and expos, high tea at Oatlands Plantation and everyone’s favorite: antique shopping.

Since the late 1990’s, the Old Lucketts Store has been the place to go for vintage and antique furniture and shabby chic home accents. The Lucketts Spring Market, an annual event that brings together over 170 vendors of everything antique, vintage and stylish is now in its 15th year. This year, shoppers can look forward to finding everything from vintage clothing to antique architectural elements.

Owner Suzanne Eblen says, “The Spring Market is now in its 15th year and by far the most exciting part of it is shopping. We have around 200 vendors that come from all over the place…and most of them have a real Lucketts sensibility, meaning really cool stuff at really good prices, so how can that not be really exciting?”

If you can’t make it out to the Lucketts Spring Market, be sure to stop by for the Lucketts Design House event, which is a monthly event featuring the seasonal re-design of the Old Lucketts Store.

“We have been doing the Design House roughly since 2004, its insane to think that we have redesigned this house 80 times,” says Eblen.

This year, Eblen and lead designer Amy Whyte added a flea market aspect to the Design House.

“We decided it would be a unique approach to offer a monthly event that would be an design driven and slightly more upscale offering to what Lucketts Store already offered,” Eblen says. “This spring we have also added Lucketts Flea, a fun outdoor market that will coincide with our Design House weekends. It will help to add to the fun and give our customers even more great stuff to choose.”

As with any Old Lucketts Store event, Eblen and Whyte will be around to offer customers design, antiquing or refinishing advice.

“Amy and I are always available to answer any design questions customers may have,” Eblen says. “We also offer paint demonstrations for our Amy Howard paint line throughout the weekend. We believe strongly in rescuing vintage furniture in need of a makeover so we are happy to walk our customers through the process.”
