Stardust Vintage & Gift in Del Ray Is Closing

The closure comes just over a year after the shop first opened.

Alexandria’s Stardust Vintage & Gift will close at the end of June, owner Amy Sills Eggers announced on social media. The closure comes roughly a year after the vintage shop first opened.

Eggers opened Stardust Vintage + Gift last June at 1904 Mt. Vernon Ave., next door to the Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market. Eggers is the co-founder and director of the market.

In Eggers’ post, she said the decision to close Stardust was based on prioritizing family commitments. “In another chapter of life, I would have pushed myself to keep doing it all. But after surviving breast cancer, I pay attention to balance in a whole new way. Family is calling, and I simply can’t do it all,” she said.

The store’s final day will be June 30. Leading up to the closure, everything in the store is for sale, including fixtures and decorations. Eggers said she is liquidating inventory, so there will be bargains available at the shop in the final weeks.

The store is still hosting May events, including a learn to crochet session on May 1, a comedy show on May 2, and a spa day–themed cookie decorating class on May 8.

“Let’s make these last weeks super fun and celebrate the past year,” Eggers wrote.

The Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market will continue; it runs the second Saturday of each month.
