Whole Foods Daily Shop to Open in Crystal City Next Month

Opening day will have local products, free samples, and tote bag giveaways.

By Melanie Jensen September 25, 2025 at 2:10 pm

A new Whole Foods Market Daily Shop will host a grand opening on Thursday, October 23, at 8 a.m. in Crystal City. The Daily Shop will open at 1550 Crystal Dr., Arlington, taking over the vacant space from the Amazon Fresh that closed last April.

The Daily Shop is a smaller-format market, designed to accommodate the fast-paced needs of more urban areas. This will be the first location outside of New York City and, at 10,000 square feet, will be the largest Daily Shop so far.

Along with Whole Foods Market’s own 365 brand and other curated private label products, the new location will also feature more than 250 locally sourced items from the DMV area and surrounding states. Local products include allergen-friendly pasta from Maryland-based La Pasta, Inc. and apples and Asian pears from Pennsylvania-based Rice Fruit Company.

The first 300 guests in line on opening morning will get limited-edition Crystal City tote bags and samples of locally sourced products.

The Crystal City location will be the first Daily Shop to offer Amazon pickup and returns, and customers can pay using Amazon One, the Whole Foods Market app, or the Amazon app. Prime Members will also have access to discounts of select products each week, and an additional 10 percent off of some in-store sale items.

The grocer also plans to give back to the DMV community and cut back on food waste by providing food donations to the Northern Virginia Food Rescue, Arlington Food Assistance Center, and ALIVE! Inc. It will also provide a low-interest loan to DMV-based dumpling supplier Laoban.
