New Barnes & Noble Bookstore Opening in Manassas

Months after the Barnes & Noble on Sudley Road closed, a new space is opening its doors just down the road.

By Maggie Roth October 10, 2024 at 10:27 am

Heads up, book lovers — a new Barnes & Noble is opening its doors this month in Manassas. The new space is at 10776 Sudley Manor Dr., in Manassas’s Bull Run Plaza.

Shoppers at the new store can expect to find a selection of books, toys and games, and a vinyl section.

The space will open with a ribbon cutting and grand opening on October 16. Author Maggie Stiefvater, known for The Raven Cycle series, will appear at the ceremony. Stiefvater lives in the Shenandoah Valley.

This move comes after the closure of a different Barnes & Noble location in Manassas earlier this year. The former location, at 8117 Sudley Rd., closed its doors in January after 25 years in business.  The new store, just 1 mile from the previous location, was previously a Dollar Tree. It sits in a shopping center with a Michaels craft store, a Giant grocery store, and a Party City.

There are several other special events lined up at the new store in October, including a signing with author C.W. Goodyear for his book President Garfield: From Radical to Unifier on October 17; face painting on October 19; and a signing with author I.S. Berry for her book The Peacock and the Sparrow.

This new store will join the nine existing Barnes & Noble locations throughout Northern Virginia. It follows the recent closure of the Tysons Corner store in May.
