Tysons Corner Center is the latest place in Northern Virginia to offer a sip and shop program. The difference? This will be the first indoor shopping center in the region to allow public cocktail consumption to its visitors.
Starting on November 1, its Shopping with a Twist program will allow shoppers to purchase cocktails and other alcoholic beverages from select restaurants to enjoy while they stroll the expansive indoor mall. Those restaurants include American Girl Bistro, Barrel & Bushel, California Pizza Kitchen, Earls Kitchen + Bar, Eddie V’s, La Sandia, Seasons 52, Shake Shack, and TGI Fridays.

Any alcoholic drinks purchased from these businesses can be taken outside of the restaurant. No outside alcohol is permitted. All beverages must stay in the original disposable cup with the logo that is provided by the restaurant where you buy your drink.
Once you have your drink in hand, shoppers can roam The Plaza and common area of the shopping center. Currently, there are 81 retailers that will allow alcoholic beverages in their stores, including Macy’s, Ann Taylor, Bloomingdale’s, and Barnes & Noble. Those participants will be marked with a sign that says, “C’mon in with your drink.”
An official launch of the sip and shop event will be held on Wednesday, November 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. The night will include plenty of entertainment and custom cocktails and drink specials from all of the Shopping with a Twist restaurants. Also, the first 100 shoppers to arrive at the event will receive a gift bag and a $25 gift card from one of the participating restaurants.
Shopping with a Twist will be in effect daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
