Fans of George Washington and Mount Vernon, mark your calendars for Friday, March 3. To celebrate the reopening of the Shops at Mount Vernon, members will get 20 percent off their purchases.
The Member Shopping Day special event will be held from 4-7 p.m.
At the shops, you will find reproductions of the estate’s items, jewelry, gifts, home décor, and toys and games.
When you make a purchase, you help support the “mission of preserving George Washington’s legacy,” according to the Mount Vernon website.
New products at the shops include Limoni salad plates, decorative hummingbird pillows, and a honey pot with stirrer.
Members typically get 10 percent off purchases, but will get an additional 10 percent during the three-hour sale.
An individual membership costs $69 for a year, while a family membership costs $159. Among the benefits of membership: free, unlimited daytime admission for a year; free mansion tours; and a subscription to Mount Vernon Magazine.
