High-end Italian athletic shoe brand Golden Goose opens location in Tysons

It’s the Venice-based company’s first flagship store in the DMV.

Want to shop for sneakers in a sleeker environment? Just head to Tysons Corner.

On Oct. 2, Golden Goose, the Italian brand of high fashion athletic footwear, opened its doors at Tyson Galleria, the capital region’s preeminent luxury shopping destination. The walls, floors and ceilings of the 1,300-square-foot Golden Goose FLAG/Washington are decked out in aluminum foil as a nod to its industrial origins, which lends both vibrant energy and brightness to the interior, and design elements also include galvanized steel and super mirror stainless steel.

The NoVA location carries the Female, Male and Kids collections, including iconic styles like Stardan and Superstar as well as the latest shoe offerings and bags, which are accompanied by complementary small leather goods like wallets, key rings and cardholders. The STAR BAG melds the flair and metropolitan feel of the brand’s Superstar sneakers with that of camera bags, while the canvas fabric of the California Bag lends a laid back, relaxed vibe.

New to this location is the LACES Bar, which lets shoppers pair their footwear with laces in different fabrics, colors and prints; designs will remain in the store for only one month before being replaced by new styles.

Founded in 2000, Golden Goose relies on artisanal manufacturing and has more than 100 direct retails stores around the world as well as online distribution. The Tysons Galleria location is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
