Best in Beauty: Manly grooming

Women aren’t the only ones who get to have fun when it comes to grooming products. Whether they like to admit it or not, men do like to pamper themselves and smell good, too. (My 13-year-old son tried out the body wash, and he liked it so much that he was asking for it for his birthday).

Van Der Hagen Shave Soap, $4.99
Made using a kettle process that whips the shea, mango and cocoa butters into a creamy lather, Van Der Hagen soaps soften the facial hair to get a closer shave, and the glycerin locks in moisture leaving soft, smooth skin.
M-61 SuperSoothe E Shave Cream, $9-$16
A nourishing cream made with vitamin E, aloe vera and chamomile, this product protects skin from irritation while it cools and hydrates. Consistent use over time lightens dark spots and blemishes.
Grooming Lounge Super Powder, $16
This wetness- and friction-fighting talcum powder keeps you fresh everywhere. It is aluminum- and alcohol-free and keeps all the man parts free from odor and stickiness.
Jack Black Face Buff Energizing Scrub, $30
Exfoliation is the task for this scrub. Its deep-cleansing ability works for weekly or biweekly use as it does such a good job making your face squeaky clean without drying it out.
Ladyburg Beard Balm, $18
There is a simple step for a soft, tamed beard. Ladyburg’s beard balm is 100 percent natural, using essential oils and butters to work the hair follicle and leave skin moisturized.
Molton Brown Black Peppercorn Body Wash, $30
Using Madagascar black pepper, coriander and basil for the rustic, spicy scent, this body wash makes a big impact. The peppercorn oil is an antioxidant, the coriander refreshes, and the basil gives that refreshing touch.
