Located next to the popular Pie Gourmet at the Village Green in Vienna, The Remedy is a new store concept from Wardrobe Rescue owner Jen Casolaro. Nothing in the store is priced over $100, with an emphasis on brands that are American-made. “Women hate going to the mall, they don’t want to wear what everyone else is wearing, and they don’t want to spend a lot of money,” says Casolaro.
The store itself can be described as “industrial shabby chic.” The decor mixes soft lavender walls with hard touches like clothing racks that resemble pipes and metal clocks. The openness of the store is intentional; Casolaro wants the space to be inviting and have the ability to be easily rearranged every couple of months.
The Remedy has a wide range of fans. Casolaro notes: “Mothers are coming in with their daughters, and they are both shopping. Young girls love the plaid shirts and the Nikibiki leggings.” One of the most popular items is The Giving Keys, a jewelry brand that features keys inscribed with inspiring words and created by people transitioning out of homelessness. The store also carries Pure Palette, a line of diffusers, candles and lip balms that are handmade in Woodbridge.
Prices range as low as $7-$10 for socks and gloves to between $70-$80 for capes and jackets. // 509 Maple Ave. W., Vienna
