No expectation is too high for the soiree savvy ladies of Events in the City.
It is easy to look at the seemingly irrational bridal meltdowns on popular reality shows like We TV’s “Bridezillas” and think “How could anyone want to marry her?”
The truth is most of those women were probably pleasant to be around before the stress of wedding planning morphed them into bouquet-wielding monsters.
To take the stress out of saying yes, Laura Ritchie, Megan Pollard and Christie McGuire developed a rare event company based on a personal relationship between clients and planners. “[What] sticks out about us as a company is the personalization of the event and that the occasion reflects the couple or person being honored,” says McGuire.
Events in the City is able to take a client’s expectations and turn them into a real experience using a unique creative process known as Innovate. Create. Celebrate. These simple steps have proven to work even in the most outrageous of situations. “We had the privilege to work with a very public figure. … Some of the elements included were live animals (wild mustangs, dogs and a bald eagle) in a historic setting, celebrity performances, live bands and a custom teepee driven in from Calgary,” says Pollard.
If the ladies seem to pull off amazing events without breaking a sweat, it’s because they actually do. “There is no event without a hiccup and it’s just how it is handled, with a smile on your face even if you’re screaming on the inside,” says Ritchie. —Angela Bobo
