King Charles III and Queen Camilla have departed the U.S. after an action-packed four-day state visit. The trip was in honor of this year’s America250 celebrations. During their stay, the royal couple visited several Northern Virginia attractions.
On Thursday, Charles and Camilla visited Arlington National Cemetery. They met with military officials and veterans and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Next, the couple headed to Front Royal for an America 250 parade and block party. They were joined by Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger.
Charles then headed to nearby Shenandoah National Park to learn more about America’s public lands. While at the park, he attended a junior ranger swearing-in ceremony and met with members of the Monacan Indian Nation, NBC4 reported.
Camilla, a patron of British horse racing, visited Smitten Farm near The Plains. She met some of the farm’s horses and spoke with the owner and manager about breeding racehorses, ABC News reported. “It’s a lovely way to finish off this trip,” reporters traveling with the queen reported her saying.
