Fire Damages Krop’s Crops in Great Falls

No injuries were reported at the multi-building fire.

A destructive fire burned through Krop’s Crops — a family-owned produce stand and vintage marketplace in Great Falls — on Tuesday night. There were no injuries reported.

Fairfax County Police helicopters first spotted the fire while returning from another call and alerted Fairfax County Fire and Rescue (FCFRD). When firefighters arrived, there was “heavy fire” visible from multiple buildings on the farm.

“Crews began a defensive attack to extinguish the fire and prevent it from further spreading,” FCFRD said on social media.

The Loudoun County Fire Department also responded to the scene to assist. The fire consumed a one-story barn on the property and the main marketplace building, FFXnow reported. It also damaged nearby power lines.

By just past midnight on Wednesday morning, FCFRD reported that the fire was under control. Fire investigators arrived on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Krop’s Crops is a 22-acre seasonal farm located on Georgetown Pike in Great Falls. It opened in 1986 as a roadside stand and now sells produce from local farms and a selection of home decor and antiques. In the fall, it offers pumpkins, apples, apple cider, and fall decor items, as well as running hayrides to its pumpkin patch.
