Wawa is celebrating the grand opening of its new Dumfries location on Thursday, September 4. The store, located at 3600 Pointe Center Ct., is set to open at 8 a.m. The first 100 customers at the new Dumfries Wawa will receive free T-shirts, and the store is also offering free coffee of any size through September 7.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m., and there will be events including a “Hoagies for Heroes” sandwich-building competition between first responders.

Dumfries Mayor Derrick Wood posted on social media that the new store will supply more than just fuel and hoagies. He said that it will also create about 50 new jobs.

“As Mayor, I’m thrilled to see this happening because it’s more than a new business — it’s part of our vision for Destination Dumfries: creating jobs, bringing fresh options, and making our town a place where people want to stop, stay, and invest,” Wood said.

Plus, all Wawa locations will offer a $5 Big Breakfast Deal from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. through September 7. The deal includes a breakfast sandwich, hot or iced coffee, and a hashbrown.

Wawas offer gas pumps and charging stations for electric vehicles. It sells a variety of grab-and-go snacks, baked goods, and freshly made breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Its specialty beverages include iced coffees, fruit smoothies, milkshakes, and iced energy drinks.
