Police Seek Help Locating Missing Gainesville Teen

The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating missing teen Kyle Benjamin Coleman of Gainesville. His vehicle was found unoccupied after being involved in a crash near Tysons Galleria mall between Galleria Drive and Tysons Boulevard on Friday, June 6.

Coleman, 19, is believed to be missing under voluntary circumstances and may be in need of assistance. He is described as a Black male, 5-foot-11, weighing around 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red and white Morehouse College windbreaker and black running pants.

News4 reported that a 911 call was made from Coleman’s iPhone to Fairfax County on Friday at about 11:20 p.m. The dispatcher said Coleman did not make the call; it was from a crash alert feature on his iPhone. Emergency responders arrived within minutes of the call, but the car was empty.

His parents, Cimmerian and Keith Coleman, told NBC4 that their son had just completed his freshman year at Morehouse College and went out with friends Friday night. His phone, car keys, and a pair of slides were left inside the car. They also said no blood was found in the car.

“Right now, we’re still trying to figure out what was his state of mind when that happened,” Keith Coleman told NBC4. “We don’t know if he sustained a head injury and he just was disoriented or something else that might have happened. We really don’t just know.”

Prince William County police are asking anyone with information regarding Coleman’s whereabouts to contact them at 703-792-6500.
