Niche’s new ranking of the Best Places to Live in America puts 11 Virginia neighborhoods in the top 100, and Arlington’s Colonial Village takes the No. 1 slot.
This annual ranking is determined based on factors like location, quality of schools, crime rates, and access to amenities.
Colonial Village has a population of 3,036 and plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks, Niche says.
It received an A+ rating for public schools, family factors, nightlife, health and fitness, and commute; an A- for diversity and jobs; and a B for housing and weather.
Niche also ranks Colonial Village as the best neighborhood for young professionals in Arlington, the best neighborhood to live in Arlington, and No. 2 for best neighborhoods to raise a family in Arlington.

- No. 2: Atlantic Station in Atlanta, Georgia
- No. 3: Chesterbrook, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- No 4: Harbour Island in Tampa, Florida
- No 5: South Lake Union in Santa Monica, California
And several other Northern Virginia neighborhoods were also ranked in the top 100:
- No. 17: Ballston/Virginia Square in Arlington
- No. 18: Radnor/Fort Myer Heights in Arlington
- No. 40: North Highland in Arlington
