NoVA’s Huntley Moves on to Live Shows on ‘The Voice’

McLean native Claudia B.’s run ends in the Playoffs round

By Amy Ayres November 22, 2023 at 8:28 am

Huntley, 33, of Fredericksburg, had the coaches gushing with his performance in the Playoffs round of The Voice that aired Tuesday night.

Huntley, who joined fans for a watch party of the taped episode at Billiken’s Smokehouse at The Chimneys in his hometown, belted out “Daylight” by David Kushner in the competition.

“He’s a machine on stage, unbelievable performer,” said Huntley’s celebrity coach, Niall Horan, after making him his first choice to move on to the Live round. Horan was able to select three of the six contestants on his team to advance.

NoVA’s other Team Niall contender, Claudia B., did not make the cut in this round despite praise from Reba McEntire, who said Claudia’s performance of “Talking to the Moon” by Bruno Mars was one of her best yet. Claudia B. is from McLean and now lives in Nashville.

A total of 12 finalists will move on to the Lives — four from each team.

The coaches appeared to be in agreement that Huntley had another strong performance.

“I just can’t believe how amazing you are every single time,” said Gwen Stefani. “Your actual vocal ability in everything you do and your style, I mean it’s masterful — I just can’t even believe you don’t already have an album.”

“What you’re giving us on stage is well beyond a competition; you’re already a star,” said John Legend.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
