A man designated “Fairfax County’s Most Wanted” is finally in custody, months after police identified him as a prime suspect in an October murder case in the Mount Vernon area, Fairfax County Police tweeted.
Authorities said they arrested Kyjuan Omar Braxton Trott-McLean, 43, Thursday following a brief police chase that ended when an officer intentionally rammed a vehicle into the suspect’s sedan at the 3800 block of Mount Vernon’s Colonial Avenue.

Trott-McLean had been wanted in connection to the October 2 murder of Brandon Wims, 31, of Maryland. Just before 7 a.m. that day, Trott-McLean allegedly fired multiple rounds into the backseat of a vehicle following a confrontation in a parking lot on St Gregorys Lane, The Washington Post reported.
Wims sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body and was later pronounced dead after being transported to Fairfax Hospital, according to police. Two other occupants of the vehicle were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial reports indicated Trott-McLean left the scene in a silver Nissan Sentra with Maryland tags. Authorities said they came close to capturing him on multiple occasions, but the suspect managed to narrowly evade police each time — until Thursday.
Fairfax County Police announced an $11,000 reward Wednesday for information on the suspect. Shortly after, authorities received a tip that Trott-McLean was using a different Nissan sedan.
Detectives from the department’s Fugitive Track and Apprehension Unit subsequently located the sedan Thursday before spotting the suspect returning to the vehicle and engaging in the ensuing chase, police said.
Trott-McLean is charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and felony possession of a firearm and ammunition.
