Leesburg Woman Charged in Shooting Death of Her Father

The “domestic-related homicide” occurred in the wake of an argument with family members.

A Leesburg woman has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in what the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is calling a “domestic-related homicide” that took place on the night of September 7.

Alicia R. Carroll, 28, was taken into police custody just a short distance from her parents’ home on Leesburg’s Fording Branch Court, where responding deputies reportedly discovered Carroll’s father, Jeffrey Carroll, shot to death inside the premises.

The alleged murder came in the wake of an argument with family members, according to a report by WUSA9, when the younger Carroll retrieved an assault rifle and handgun from inside the home and shot her father.

Carroll’s mother reportedly witnessed the shooting before hiding in an adjacent room.

“He was a really good man,” a neighbor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told WUSA9. “He was funny, he was kind, he was sweet. And his wife — they’re really good people.”

In addition to the second-degree murder charge, Carroll is facing charges for using a firearm during the commission of a felony and shooting in the commission of a felony.

She’s currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
