Route 7 construction to begin this year; Leesburg student launches prosthetics business

Fairfax County will soon see major construction work along Route 7. The widening project is expected to take several years to complete, and will cost $314 million. The project will expand the road from four to six lanes from the Dulles Toll Road near Georgetown Pike, between Tysons and Reston. (WTOP)

Sixth-grader Mahsa Riar, a student at Belmont Ridge Middle School, has launched her own business, called Limitless Limbs, which used 3D printers to create affordable prosthetics. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

The University of Maryland could potentially be coming to Crystal City. The university is currently in the market for between 20,000 to 25,000 square feet to support the growth of Amazon HQ2. (Washington Business Journal)

Loudoun United FC’s home opener on Saturday night resulted in a drawer against Bethlehem Steel FC. The team will return to Audi Field on May 19, to play Hartford Athletic. Audi Field is the team’s temporary home while its permanent stadium at Bolen Park is under construction. (Loudoun Now)
