‘Walking Dead’ spinoff to film in Virginia this summer; UVA wins first-ever national basketball title

The zombie apocalypse is coming to Virginia. A spinoff of AMC’s The Walking Dead is set to film in central Virginia this summer; the exact filming locations have not been released. (NBC 4 Washington)

The University of Virginia won its first-ever national basketball title Monday, beating Texas Tech in overtime, 85-77. UVA’s athletic department will host a homecoming for the national champions on Tuesday, followed by a celebration this weekend. (WTOP)

The General Assembly’s finalized budget amendments to dedicate $151 million to the I-81 Corridor Improvement Plan will also support road projects in Northern Virginia. The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority expects to receive $20 million in dedicated funding from the new measures. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

DC dropped 11 spots in the latest U.S. News “Best Places to Live” ranking, due to its high cost of living and a migration of people out of the city. (WTOP)
