New program provides Justice HS students with free Metrobus passes; Passersby pulls man out of Potomac River near Great Falls

Students at Justice High School can now ride Metrobuses for free thanks to a program put together by the school and county officials in September.

A man who was reportedly attempting to take a selfie on the Maryland side of Great Falls Sunday night fell into the Potomac River and was pulled out by passersby. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.

An Arlington immigration court judge is deciding whether to hold a Chinese native on bond despite the former Virginia Tech student’s felony gun charge being dismissed. The student was accused of having equipped an AR-15 with a 30-round magazine of ammunition, and Virginia law states that non-residents can only posses magazines with 20 rounds. The individual is hoping to continue his studies in the United States, but does not plan on returning to Virginia Tech.

At a motel in the 6000 block of Richmond Highway in Alexandria, a 32-year-old man barricaded himself in a room and escaped by climbing through the ceiling. Fairfax County police are still searching for the suspect, who is wanted on warrants concerning credit card theft, credit card fraud and more.
