Monday, the Washington Nationals announced that they have issued a two-year player development contract extension with the Potomac Nationals, which will move from Woodbridge to Fredericksburg upon the April 2020 opening of a new 5,000-seat stadium. The contract will remain in effect until 2020.

Early on Monday, two 7-Eleven stores (one in the 100 block of Dry Mill Road SW, Leesburg, and the other in the 700 block of Fieldstone Drive, Leesburg) were robbed by a masked individual demanding money and claiming to have a gun. A robber attempted to steal from the 7-Eleven located in the 46100 block of Sterling’s Woodshire Drive next, but a deputy arrived as the robber was attempting to take cash, causing the robber to flee the scene in a light-colored, four-door sedan.

Saturday, a 53-year-old Warrenton woman was found dead in an inflatable pool in the 6700 block of Riley Road. The cause of death is being investigated and the woman’s 51-year-old brother, Ashton Dunlap Berry, was taken into custody.
