Fairfax County police officer charged with abuse of 6-month-old daughter; Fire sprinklers were not working during Centreville apartment complex fire

The 6-month-old daughter of a Fairfax County police officer living in Monrovia, Maryland, 38-year-old Jason Colley, died on Oct. 31, 2017. The baby’s cause of death is believed to be connected to an assault by her father on Sept. 19, 2017. Colley turned himself in to Frederick County, Maryland, police on Tuesday and has been charged with first-degree child abuse resulting in death, first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury and first-degree felony assault.
