Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine approached the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement with concerns about Stafford’s Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center. Six Latino teens have made statements about abuse that allegedly took place between 2015 and 2018, and the senators want to know if the facility has has similar accusations made against it in the past and what disciplinary actions are taken if an employee assaults a child.

Fairfax County Public Schools initiated a security review following the February school shooting in Parkland, Florida, the results of which recommend making a number of improvements that will cost approximately $24 million. The changes will be presented to the school board on July 12, but the public can sign up to weigh in during a public hearing, also held on July 12, starting June 25.

Thursday, on her way to Texas to speak at a shelter holding migrant children, Melania Trump wore a green jacket that read “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO YOU?” on its back, causing a social media uproar. Melania Trump’s spokeswoman said “There was no hidden message.” Melania Trump did not wear the jacket while touring the Texas facility.
