Arlington National Cemetery to open expansion soon; Arlington officials search for owner of plush bunny

In a matter of weeks, Arlington National Cemetery will open an $81.7 million expansion that consists of 6,000 pre-dug graves and 16,000 openings in a columbarium.

The Arlington Department of Environmental Services is using social media to find the owner of a plush bunny that was left at the Taste of Arlington a couple of weeks ago. As of Friday morning, the bunny was not reunited with its owner.

A 7-month-old girl was abducted from the Danville Kwik Stop on Riverside Drive at 7:55 p.m. on Sunday. An Amber Alert has been issued and police believe that the little girl is in “extreme danger” and was abducted by a man named Carl Kennedy, who drives a gold Suzuki with the North Carolina license plate “FAA-1873.”

Stafford County schools are closed on Monday due to flooded roads and White’s Ferry, which transports Loudoun County passengers to Montgomery County, is closed due to a flooded Potomac River. A flood warning for Fairfax County is in affect until June 6.
