Wednesday afternoon, Fairfax Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 7500 block of Springfield Hills Drive, where a 76-year-old woman was reportedly beat with an ax handle by her 70-year-old husband. The wife was able to escape with the help of another family member. The husband was then found in the garage suffering from self-inflicted chainsaw wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
