Organizers have canceled a rally for the preservation of a Confederate statue at the Loudoun County Courthouse in Leesburg. It was originally scheduled for the same day as the fatal Charlottesville protest and was then postponed until September. Loudoun County Chairwoman Phyllis Randall asked the General Assembly for more decision-making power in regards to local monuments.

A memorial for Heather Heyer, the woman who was killed in Charlottesville after a man drove his car into a crowd during the violent white supremacist-led rally, will be held at the Paramount Theater today.
