NoVA’s latest developments include Nestle’s new Rosslyn headquarters and a reignited push for minor league baseball in Loudoun.

Nestle USA to call Rosslyn home

Nestle USA, a subsidiary of Swiss-based Nestle S.A., is moving its headquarters to a more than 200,000-square-foot office space in Rosslyn from its current Glendale, California, office. The move is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and bring 750 jobs to the area. The state offered $10 million in incentives and grants, with Arlington County contributing $6 million. The move comes with Nestle stating its main consumer base is here: 85 percent of its top customers and 75 percent of its factories are in the eastern U.S., according to a Washington Post report.

Push is back on for baseball in Loudoun

For years Loudoun County groups have been trying to get a minor league baseball team into the county. There were plans for a stadium at what was to be called the Kincora development, then plans to build it at One Loudoun. The team was to be called Loudoun Hounds. There were parties and events held; nothing materialized. Now a new group has formed with some major name backing: former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann and Ric Edelman, the CEO of Edelman Financial Services. Talks and fundraising are in progress with plans to get a baseball franchise into the county as early as 2018, according to the Washington Business Journal.
