Trump announces his pick for Supreme Court; Virginia intervenes in immigration order lawsuit

President Donald Trump announced Colorado appeals court judge Neil Gorsuch as his pick to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.

Virginia has intervened in a lawsuit against Trump‘s immigration order. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of two Yemeni men with permanent U.S. residence status who were forced to return to Ethiopia after arriving at Dulles International on Saturday and signing papers their attorneys argue they did not understand. Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring called the order “sweeping, poorly understood and chaotically implemented.”
