President Trump fired Attorney General Sally Yates after she issued a memo ordering the Justice Department to not defend his immigration order, writing she was not sure it’s lawful. Trump relieved Yates, an Obama appointee, of her duties, writing that she “betrayed the Department of Justice.” In the interim, Trump appointed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Dana Boente, until the confirmation of his appointee Sen. Jeff Sessions.
