Roughly 68 percent of Virginia voters turned out on Election Day; Trump to visit Obama at White House today

Northern Virginia’s daily dose of local and national news for Thursday, Nov. 10.

An estimated 68 percent of registered Virginia voters cast ballots during Tuesday’s election, which is down from 71.78 percent in 2012 and 74.5 percent in 2008. That is, however, higher than national estimates, which currently show a 55.6 percent turnout rate among eligible voters, the lowest since the 2004 election.
