Five presidential candidates confirmed for Virginia’s November ballot; Gov. McAuliffe announces $9.5 million in federal grants

Five presidential candidates will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot in Virginia: Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein and Evan McMullin.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced $9.5 million in federal grants that will be dedicated to water and sewage infrastructure, housing rehabilitation and 11 more projects.

Gunfire struck two occupied homes in Dumfries on Sunday. No one was injured. Similar incidents have taken place in Manassas and Woodbridge since the beginning of the year.

Police chased two motorcyclists who refused to stop after one was involved in a car accident on I-66. The chase ended in Arlington, and both men were taken into custody.

The Orange and Blue Metro lines were delayed Tuesday morning. A high rail excavator derailed, forcing the Orange line to single-track between West Falls Church and Vienna. A track problem temporarily closed service between Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street stations.
