It’s no surprise to area parents that their children’s classroom size is growing. New statistics show that there is steady, yet unbalanced, student population growth across the state due to births and migration. Northern Virginia’s growth takes the lead and actually offsets the decline in the rest of the state. In fact, the study projects that by 2018, 40 percent of the state’s public school population will be in Northern Virginia.
