$10.9M Reston Penthouse Sets New Virginia Sales Record

This is the second record-breaking sale for units in the same building.

The new JW Marriott Residences has set another sales record. A penthouse in the Reston building just sold for $10.9 million, making it the most expensive condo ever sold in Virginia.

The sale breaks the $10.25 million record for a penthouse that sold in the same building in April.

Comstock Holding Companies, Inc. and McWilliams|Ballard announced the record-breaking deal in a release. “Occupying the entire top floor of the 28-story luxury tower, the groundbreaking residence was custom designed in collaboration with its buyer and delivers 360-degree views across Northern Virginia, including sight lines that reach from Tysons to the Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond,” it said.

Matt Cummings of McWilliams|Ballard brokered the sale. “We started the design and build out of this penthouse almost two years ago, and to see it go from concept drawings to one of the most spectacular homes in the area has been an incredible journey. It’s rare to have the opportunity to help a buyer build something this personal in such a sought after community,” he said.

The JW Marriott Residences include 93 units on the 14th through 25th floors of the JW Marriott Reston Station. They range from one- to three-bedroom floorplans. The residences were completed in 2025 and were designed with penthouses on the 26th, 27th, and 28th floors.

The condos offer hotel-style amenities including 24/7 concierge and valet service, a clubroom with entertaining lounges, a rooftop dog park, and a private gym and parking garage. Owners also receive VIP status and additional amenities at Marriott hotels and resorts worldwide.
