Brookfield looks to expand existing office space in Reston to massive mixed-use project
Brookfield Properties currently owns two six-story office buildings, One and Two Reston Crescent, located on Sunrise Valley Drive, and they have plans to take these two existing buildings and turn them into a space that will house 2,260 residential units, 1.18 million square feet of office, 64,000-plus square feet of retail and possibly a 160-room hotel. The area is in a prime location, less than a half-mile from the future Reston Town Center Metro station that is slated to open in 2020.
What is old is soon to be residential in Alexandria
A 50-year-old building at 200 Stovall St. is getting a new purpose. Perseus Realty has filed plans with the Carlyle Design Review Board to convert the building into one that includes 525 units, 26,000-plus square feet of retail and 20,000 square feet of amenity space. If these plans are approved, the building will rise from 150 to 200 feet and will be finished with a total of 690,000 square feet that will include 246 parking spaces in the bottom three floors, according to The Washington Business Journal. The building is currently vacant.
