Bedtime may be better with a touch of nature

Catch more sleep by placing plants near your pillow.

You’ve tried lying on your left side and lying on your right. Listening to sound machines. Using black-out curtains. Yet you still can’t fall asleep. Before you resign yourself to a life of sleep deprivation, try taking a trip to your local gardening store. Adding a few potted plants to your nightstand could be just the thing you need to induce relaxation and rest.

Studies show that time in nature can decrease blood pressure and heart rates and reduce stress, and if you bring a small piece of nature indoors, it can have a similarly positive effect on health. And as we know, good health and good sleep have a symbiotic relationship. 

Certain houseplants can detoxify your air, leading to improved health and possibly better sleep, and some plants also have aromatherapy qualities that could help you catch more z’s.
