14 sports camps happening in NoVA this summer

We’ve rounded up the best athletic camps for kids around the NoVA region.

Arlington Soccer Association
Kids of all levels and abilities can hone their soccer skills at this popular summer camp geared toward kids on the younger side of the sport.
Ages: Pre-K-2nd grade
Session dates: To be announced

Ashburn Ice House
Beginners can sign up for the Learning to Skate camps that run most of the summer, while hockey fanatics can focus solely on that sport in a separate camp.
Ages: 4-14 years old
Session dates: June 10-Aug. 21
Fees: $150+
Location: Ashburn

Evolution Basketball Camps
Kids can beef up their basketball skills while having a blast at this fundamentals camp that focuses on shooting, ball handling, passing and team skills.
Ages: 3rd-8th grade
Session dates: June 25-Aug. 17
Fees: $225+
Location: Ashburn, Chantilly & Fairfax

Fairfax Ice Arena
Kids of all ages learn such skills as stroking, edges and maneuvers culminating in an ice show after the camp is over.
Ages: 4-17 years old

InCourage Martial Arts Summer Camp
A typical day here includes martial arts, naturally, plus sports, games and wind-down time at the end of the day that might include movies or arts and crafts.
Ages: 4-12 years old
Session dates: June 17-Aug. 23

Loudoun International Fencing Summer Camp
All equipment is provided for this camp devoted to electric Epee fencing, which the organization credits with promoting fitness, intellectual development and confidence.
Ages: 7-20 years old
Session dates: July 18-Aug.16
Fees: $250+
Location: Ashburn

Mulford Riding School Summer Riding Camp
The focus at this family owned business is horseback riding, but there are also activities such as sports, arts and crafts and canoeing for those who aren’t into horses.
Ages: 6-16 years old
Session dates: June 17-Aug. 9

Location: Centreville

Nationals Summer Camp
This baseball camp includes instruction, a day trip to Nationals Park and a Nats camp uniform. Overnight camp is available for kids ages 9-13.
Ages: Rising K-rising 8th grade

NVVA (Northern Virginia Volleyball Association)
It’s all things volleyball at this year-round sports facility that holds summer camps geared toward improving kids’ games; strength and conditioning; and high-performance game play.
Ages: 10-16 years old
Session dates: July 8-Aug. 8

Location: Sterling

Overtime Athletic
Campers can home in on one sport, such as basketball, cheerleading or flag football, or go for a combo of sports, games, arts, moon bounces and laser tag.
Ages: 6-12 years old
Session dates: June 14-Aug. 30

Sportrock Climbing Camp
The indoor camp is a great way for kids to become acquainted with rock climbing, and the outdoor camp teaches advanced climbing at Great Falls National Park.
Ages: 6-16 years old
Session dates: June 17-Aug. 30

Location: Alexandria and Sterling

St. Stephens & St. Agnes School (SSSAS) SummerTimes Tennis Camps
Half-day and full-day tennis camps take place on the campus’ shaded courts, and activities also include indoor fun, prizes, competitions and an end-of-week pizza party.
Ages: 6-18 years old
Session dates: June 10-Aug. 16
Fees: $400+
Location: Alexandria

Stonelea Farm Riding Camp
Great for beginners, this camp teaches the ins and outs of riding, caring for and keeping horses, including why they react certain ways and how they think.
Ages: 5+ years old
Session dates: June 17-Aug. 2
Fees: $315+

TopKick Summer Camps
In addition to martial arts, campers will participate in fitness-focused games and sports, field trips, arts and crafts and building with LEGOS.
Ages: 4-12 years old
