Prince William County is already a diverse place to dine. But for those more interested in cooking at home than eating in restaurants, matters are about to improve exponentially with the Nov. 14 debut of Oh! Market International Food in Manassas. The new store is the second in the small local chain, joining a location in Winchester that opened in 2011.
“Our international supermarket model was designed to serve the diverse population of Northern Virginia, where we sell food for a variety of palates and ethnicities, and if we don’t have what you’re looking for, we know how to get it for you,” said Man Oh, founder and president of Oh! Market International Food in a press release. “No matter what your cultural background, many of us are cooking at home more than ever before, and we’re excited to be able to bring our international food selections to the Manassas area.”
When he says international food, he means it. The 47,000 square-foot grocery will stock specialties from more than 60 countries. Though Asian and Hispanic groceries are emphasized, other specialties include caviars from a variety of fish, Russian sausages and bologna, preserves and jams from Azerbaijan, international beers and wines, as well as breads and cheeses from around the world. The fish market is an open, walk-in space that allows customers to watch their seafood being prepared.
Don’t feel like doing the cooking yourself after all? There’s also a food court, which includes three vendors. K-Bop will serve traditional Korean cuisine, Wasabiko will sell sushi and Taco-Chinoz will provide Mexican fusion dishes to shoppers. With all this, Oh! has created more than 100 new jobs for the community. And delicious meals? Those will be countless. // 7412 Stream Walk Lane, Manassas
